Powerful alternative to traditional protection ensures seamless user experience. The functionality provides hitless protection of Ethernet services within a Nimbra MSR network. By supporting hitless protection switching within the same functionality a large spectrum of redundancy options may be utilized for different applications. Nimbra also offers a unique Head End Protection that handles disaster recovery of the IPTV Head End.
The JPEG2000 Video Access Module supports compression or decompression of up to two 3G-SDI or four HD/SD/-SDI channels on one single board. In addition to JPEG2000 compressed video, the module can uniquely run all uncompressed SDI and ASI video formats, ranging from 2 Mbps ASI to 3 Gbps 3G-SDI per port. A fully equipped Nimbra 688 unit can host up to 120 video ports that can be individually configured for compressed/uncompressed, video format, frame rate and direction, which makes it the most scalable and cost-efficient video transport solution on the market. Encoding is done frame-by-frame to ensure high quality and low latency for contribution networks to IPTV head ends.
Nimbra 640 – Is a cost-efficient and scalable media access gateway for multiservice media transport over IP. Fully equipped, the Nimbra 640 provides up to 24 access interfaces per unit, for transport of video, audio and Ethernet over GE or 10GE connections. The multi-format video interfaces are configured independently for video format and direction, with optional JPEG2000 compression and autosensing. Ethernet access interfaces provide transparent layer-2 services for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint lossless Ethernet transport.
Nimbra 320 - Combines native video/audio service transport with carrier-class Metro Ethernet switching to provide a multiservice transport solution for demanding media applications.

Nimbra 310 - Is a compact remote access MSR for true multiservice transport of media and data services. With its cost efficiency and slim outline, it allows the unique MSR functionality to be extended far out in the access networks.
