Turner, MLB extend Braves coverage deal
Turner Sports and MLB have reached a new long-term extension agreement to continue telecasting Atlanta Braves baseball games nationally on TBS through the 2012 season. As part of the agreement, Turner will continue to air about 125 Major League Baseball games on TBS and Turner South.
The new agreement guarantees a minimum of 45 games on national carrier TBS through the life of the contract.
Alltel, MobiTV launch mobile TV
Alltel and MobiTV have begun offering live television broadcasts and made-for-mobile content to wireless customers. Alltel will offer 25 channels initially through the service, including ESPN 3GTV and FOX Sports. The service will cost $9.99 per month.
