FOX SportsNet names Rone executive vice president
David Rone has been promoted to executive vice-president, network development and rights acquisitions at FOX SportsNet. He will be responsible for the strategic direction, financial analysis and negotiation of cable television rights acquisitions for FOX Sports Networks’ 12 regional sports networks.

United Press International has partnered with The Sports Network to provide sports scores and information to media, and interactive and corporate subscribers. Under the agreement, UPI will represent a variety of sports content produced by The Sports Network, including NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, collegiate basketball and football, golf, soccer (both domestic and international), tennis, NASCAR, Formula 1 and Olympics coverage.
Content will take the form of real-time scores and scoreboards, game action, statistics, rankings, and updates on athletes' performances.
Viacom and SportsLine.com have signed a definitive agreement for SportsLine.com to merge with a subsidiary of Viacom.
The merger is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Viacom currently holds about 38 percent of the total outstanding shares of SportsLine.com’s common stock.
