Thomson introduces EDIUS version 4.5

At NAB2007, Thomson Grass Valley rolled out version 4.5 of the EDIUS nonlinear editor, which offers a new GUI design, support for additional formats and new features like import/export of AAF and GXF, simple DVD authoring and support for VMF.

The software's new user interface can be tailored precisely to the needs of the user while being intuitive in operation.

New format support includes:

• JPEG2000, as used for HD recording in the Grass Valley Infinity digital media camcorder;
• Panasonic AVC-Intra and DVCPRO HD 720p;
• Sony HDV 1080 24p/25p/30p;
• JVC HDV 720 50p/60p.

The additional formats bring the total number supported to more than 70, while retaining the software's ability to mix formats on a single timeline.

EDIUS v4.5 is a free upgrade.
