New research from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) finds that more than 50 percent of U.S. households now own a digital television.
According to new CEA sales projections, released Dec. 28, manufacturers will post 11 percent revenue growth, to more than $25 billion, from sales of digital televisions in 2007. In 2008, CEA forecasts nearly 32 million DTVs will be sold, representing 17 percent unit sales growth and revenue growth of 13 percent over 2007 levels.
CEA projections also indicate that 79 percent of all DTVs shipped next year will be HDTVs.
