Consolidated Communications to use Entone Technologies VOD solution

Consolidated Communications, the nation’s 15th largest telephone company, has selected Entone Technologies’ carrier-class video on demand (VOD) solution to support its IP television (IPTV) service launch.
Consolidated’s VOD service involves middleware from Myrio, headend equipment from Tut Systems and server hardware from Hewlett Packard. Entone’s StreamLiner Network Video Recorder (NVR) software solution works with standard hardware platforms, such as Hewlett Packard, and transforms those platforms into high performing and scalable VOD servers.
