Opticomm unveils Multiverse multiplexer for fiber

Oct 14, 2004 8:00 AM, IBC Update e-newsletter

Opticomm has unveiled its new Multiverse platform, which uses the company’s Multiple Division Multiplexing (MDM) series of multiplexers to transmit 1-144 channels over one fiber.

Opticomm’s MDM solutions use various division multiplexing techniques to eliminate the need to assign independent wavelengths to each channel, leaving them available for more bandwidth.

The Multiverse platform can accommodate Opticomm’s extensive line of video, audio and data signal transmitters in any combination to suit a user’s specific needs.

The platform is designed to handle NTSC, PAL, SECAM, RGB/VGA, HD-SDI, HD-HDTV video, analog or digital AES/EBU audio, or RS-232/422/449/485/530, TTL, 10/100BaseT data.
