NEC introduces DTU-51 digital TV transmitter

NEC unveiled the latest model in its high-power digital TV transmitter DTU-51 Series at IBC2005.

The new DTU-51 is a liquid-cooled transmitter that requires no channel-specific components. The transmitters are produced from, and supported by a single common set of modules. They also feature an N+1 common standby system configuration free of channel-specific components.

The transmitter features a high-efficiency broadband solid-state power amplifier employing lateral diffused metal oxide semiconductor output devices, with an integrated power supply and liquid cooling system. Each compact PA module incorporates an RS-485 interface, enabling comprehensive monitoring and remote control. Its exciter (DM3000-A) has a newly developed digital linear corrector and low-phase-noise local oscillator.
