Al Baghdadia TV acquires Advent NewSwift satellite uplinks

Al Baghdadia TV, an Iraqi-owned Arabic-language channel, is adding to its outside broadcast (OB) equipment with three new vehicle-mounted satellite antennas from Vislink News and Entertainment.

The network’s latest order is for 1.2m Advent NewSwifts, which will enable Al Baghdadia to upgrade to HD as necessary. The order follows Al Baghdadia TV’s purchase of Link wireless camera systems in January.

The Advent NewSwift is a compact, vehicle-mounted satellite terminal designed for rapid-deployment news applications. It is weatherproof and designed for two internal HPAs. The dishes operate on the Ku-band (13.75GHz-14.5GHz). The supporting electronic package includes the Advent 5000 series video exciter and decoder. Al Baghdadia also has chosen the Advent auto-acquisition satellite finder.
