ABC will use the Synergy 4 MD-X in advanced newscasts.

ABC in Washington, D.C., has purchased a Ross Video Synergy 4 MD-X multidefinition production switcher and OverDrive production control system. The systems are scheduled for installation in early 2007.

The Synergy 4 MD-X combines a four effects bank control panel with the MD-X live production engine, providing four full MLEs with up to four downstream keyers.

Each MLE is equipped with four channels of Squeeze & Tease 3D DVE, one “floating” UltraChrome chroma keyer and four channels of MLE Store still store with MediaCache moving image playback. The Synergy 4 MD-X will be used in advanced newscasts. It supports HD, SD or a mix of both.

OverDrive is a flexible production control system with a LiveLink MOS that can interface to the iNews newsroom editorial system. The device control capabilities of the Synergy 4 MD-X combined with OverDrive provides the ability to execute a more consistent, efficient and sophisticated news production.
