Japan’s NTT DOCOMO has taken the lifestyle phone idea to whole new level with its latest suite of handsets. One of the two TV phones in the operator's new 18-phone lineup, the P-10A offers a wide landscape screen and waterproof body. The other new TV handset, the SH-07A AQUOS, targets customers with a tuner that receives two mobile TV channels simultaneously. The phone also links easily to Blu-ray recorders.
Meanwhile, in the wake of its TD-SCDMA phone (the SGH L288) in April 2008, Samsung has unveiled its GT-I6320C TV phone bound for the Chinese 3G network. The GT-I6320C will operate on TD-HSDPA, TD-SCDMA, 3G and CMMB. When China granted TD-SCDMA 3G licenses to China Mobile in January 2009, Samsung jumped in to take advantage of the new technology. TD-HSDPA technology evolved from TD-SCDMA to let users download files at 2.8Mb/s — faster than TD-SCDMA.
