SBT will use the Synergy SD switchers to produce a series of popular soap operas.

SBT, a division of Grupo Silvio Santos, which owns 104 stations in Brazil, has upgraded its production facilities with two Ross Synergy 100 SD digital production switchers. The broadcaster will use the Synergy switchers to produce a series of popular soap operas. SBT is now planning additional equipment upgrades as part of Brazil’s impending transition to digital SD and HD.

Cicero L. Marques said SBT staff, based in Sao Paulo, have found the switcher simple to operate, which made implementation into existing production control rooms easy and fast.

The Synergy SD series digital production switchers are multipurpose switchers, designed for a wide variety of digital production applications. The product line offers a complete migration path to multidefinition with the company’s Vision, MD and MD-X line of digital production switchers.
