The Ross Video Vision 3 switcher, which handles both SD and HD signals in the same frame, will be used by TV Bandeirantes to produce and distribute news.

In an effort to distribute news in both standard and high-definition formats, TV Bandeirantes, one of Brazil’s largest networks, has ordered a Vision 3 video production switcher and an OverDrive production control system from Ross Video. The broadcaster, which already owns a Ross Synergy switcher, will use the new multiformat Vision switcher and automation system for TV Bandeirantes News, tightly integrated with its existing AP ENPS newsroom computer system.

The Vision series handles both SD and HD signals in the same frame and is ideally suited for live newscasts, sports and special events that require coverage in either formats, or a mix of both.

OverDrive is a flexible production control system that includes a LiveLink MOS interface to newsroom computer systems. Using the device control capabilities of Vision video production switchers, OverDrive extends the reach of the technical director to include control of video servers, audio mixers, robotic cameras and more. The centralized control offered by OverDrive enables users to execute a more consistent, sophisticated production without increasing staff.
