The DIGISUPER 22xs Compact Studio HD Lens is a high-end optical system based upon Canon’s classic studio lens design principles

Canon has announced that since its 2004 introduction of the DIGISUPER 22xs lens (model XJ22x7.3B IE-D), TV production companies and broadcasters have purchased the lenses as part of their transition to HDTV.

Canon’s compact studio HD lens provides “box lens” optical performance in a compact size scaled to portable HD cameras.

The DIGISUPER 22xs Compact Studio HD Lens is a high-end optical system based upon Canon’s classic studio lens design principles but carefully constrained to a physical size and weight (13.4lbs) commensurate with that of contemporary portable production cameras.

The lens offers Canon’s exclusive eDrive system. Together with its optical encoders, eDrive provides lens-status information on an easy-to-read display that accurately reports settings for f-stop, focal length, focusing distance and other parameters.
