At NAB2008 (Booth C8137), Polecam will introduce three additions to its range of mobile camera equipment. This includes a turnkey HD capture system comprising a miniature HD zoom camera, a solid-state HD field recorder and Polecam’s single-operator broadcast-quality camera crane. A production version of the company’s FishFace submersible camera head will also be introduced.

The Polecam camera rig is ideal for use with miniature HD camera heads. The latest-generation HD MiniZoom camera from Camera Corps is a miniature 720p/1080i 50/59.94Hz HD camera with remotely controllable zoom lens. Measuring just 96mm x 49mm x 45mm, the camera incorporates a 1/3in 2-megapixel CMOS sensor with 10X zoom lens (5.1mm-51mm) in a weatherproofed aluminum housing.

The HD MiniZoom has very low power consumption (3.8W at 6V-12V DC) and can be used in full auto mode with the lens at wide angle. An auxiliary interface provides all the necessary data decoding to allow full manual control of its iris, zoom and focus via small LANC controller. An optional remote CCU panel allows manual control of paint and detail. The HD MiniZoom delivers a greater than 50dB signal-to-noise ratio (12lux minimum illumination at F1.5). The two-piece aluminum housing is protected to IP65 standards, allowing safe operation in heavy rain or high levels of windblown dust.
