Probel’s Sirius router will now be sold as a package with Miranda’s Kaleido multiviewer.

At NAB (booth #SU12712) Pro-Bel and Miranda Technologies will unveil a partnership that will result in Pro-Bel routers and Miranda’s Kaleido-X multi-image display processor sold as an integrated solution. The new combination provides simplified connectivity — using a single multicore cable — and significantly enhanced control.

Designed for multiroom environments, Kaleido-X offers multi-image display capability, while Pro-Bel’s routers bring flexibility and reliability.

Pro-Bel has also announced that it is now providing external fiber connectivity for its Cygnus range of large-scale 3Gig-Native HD routers, thanks to a newly developed external fiber module that attaches directly to a BNC on the back of the frame. This negates the cable length limitations that surround HD, providing far greater flexibility for multisite installations and also OB units where fiber is popular.

The external fiber module allows increased flexibility for installation by not tying the user to fixed multiples of fiber I/O, and allowing the fiber to be distributed as required across the router. A bulk dual redundant power supply frame for the fiber modules ensures reliability.
