At IBC2009 last month in Amsterdam, UK microphone support systems manufacturer Rycote featured its latest camera-mounted microphone windshield and shockmount system for videographers.
Known as the RUCK (Rycote Universal Camera Kit), the system offers videographers, video production companies and consumers a means to protect high-quality, camera-mounted mics from wind noise and unwanted vibrations.
The RUCK consists of:
• The InVision video mount assembly, based on Rycote's vibration-resistant Lyre shockmount technology, which accepts microphones from 19mm to 25mm in diameter;
• A variety of included adaptors that allow the InVision mount to be used in different physical configurations; and
• Two layers of Rycote wind protection for the microphone.
