The HMC miniature expanded beam fiber-optic connector from Stratos Optical.

Stratos Optical is shipping its new HMC miniature expanded beam fiber-optic connector.

Stratos Optical has produced a four-channel expanded beam connector, with a diameter of just more than 3/4in. The HMC is small enough for use with compact, state-of-the-art HD broadcast and cinema cameras and disk recorder products. The HMC’s compact design also gives system designers the option of using expanded beam technology in situations traditionally limited to telecom-style PC patch connectors.

The HMC is available in multimode and in single mode two- and four-fiber configurations.
