New Avid Technology editing products now offer import and native editing support for the Panasonic AVC-Intra codec.
Avid products supporting the AVC-Intra codec include Avid Media Composer software v3.0; Avid Media Composer Mojo DX v3.0; Avid Media Composer Nitris DX v3.0; Symphony Nitris DX v3.0; Avid NewsCutter software v7.0; NewsCutter Mojo DX v7.0; and NewsCutter Nitris DX v7.0.
AVC-Intra provides high-quality 10-bit intraframe encoding using the Hi-10 and Hi-422 Intra profiles of H.264 in two modes: AVC-Intra 100 for full-raster mastering video quality and AVC-Intra 50Mb/s for DVCPRO HD comparable quality at half the bit rate.
Panasonic’s AJ-HPX3000 and AJ-HPX2000 solid-state 2/3in P2 HD camcorders offer AVC-Intra capability, as does the AJ-HPM110 P2 mobile recorder/player.
