The block schematic of the AXON INS30 closed-captioning encoder, part of the Synapse range.
AXON has added the INS30 SD closed-captioning and Teletext encoder to the Synapse modular infrastructure and communications system. The INS30 is a stand-alone card that enables closed-captioning data to be encoded onto a program feed. The optional monitoring on SDI or CVBS outputs uses an on-screen display to simulate the output of a decoder for the closed-captioning monitoring.
The INS30 is typically used for live closed-captioning insertion. Features include 625/50 or 525/59.94 operation and data input in the NEWFOR protocol via WST-B or EIA-608 format.
The FCC has issued captioning requirements for all online video. Learn how to meet the requirements of the new rules and how to automate the technical process.
