BBC WiScape introduces WiCam-C wireless camera system for newsgathering

The BBC WiScape Wicam enables cable-free cameras to offer images that are compatible with those produced by traditional cameras

BBC WiScape, a business unit of BBC Vecta, will unveil its new WiCam-C, a wireless camera system that transmits robust, high-quality digital pictures for ENG at IBC2003.

WiCam-C has a compact MPEG encoding system that can be clipped onto ENG camcorders. The equipment has a fast setup time and can be controlled by a single operator providing extreme flexibility and efficiency for newsgathering in the field.

BBC WiScape will also demonstrate the Outside Broadcast (OB) dockable WiCam-D, which gives broadcasters access to more shots by enabling them to get closer to the action.
