Broadcast Pix offers DVI I/O for Slate switchers

Broadcast Pix has announced an optional DVI input/output board for its new Slate switcher line with built-in multiview monitoring, character generator and clip store. The feature will be shown at InfoComm 2007 (booth #6533), starting June 19 in Anaheim, CA.

The modular Slate input/output architecture has three I/O boards, including SD digital, analog and (later this year) HD for 720p and 1080i. The new DVI board will add both a DVI input and a DVI output. It also includes adapters for VGA I/O.

The DVI or VGA output enables Slate to feed a high-resolution signal directly to a projector. While Slate is often used with inputs from laptops via S-video input, the new DVI or VGA input will enable a high-resolution input from a computer.

The new DVI I/O board will be available late this year as an option for the Slate HD I/O board. It will work on all new or existing Slate switchers.
