Rohde & Schwarz ObjectStreamer enables MHP applications for DVB

Sep 4, 2003 12:00 PM

The new Rohde & Schwarz MHP ObjectStreamer fully complies with the multimedia home platform (MHP) standard.

Tested in collaboration with Advanced Digital Broadcast, the ObjectStreamer software allows service providers to implement MHP applications for all DVB systems.

The software is used together with the DTV IP inserter and generator, the Rohde & Schwarz DIP010. Newly created MHP applications can be implemented in all DVB systems (DVB-T, DVB-C, DVB-S) without the need for extensions to be made to the program multiplexer.

ObjectStreamer can be conveniently integrated into a running system without affecting TV transmission. The free bandwidth in DVB systems can also be used for such MHP services as additional information or games. Enhancement with other IP-based services is possible at any time.
