Snell & Wilcox implement new technology at IBC2003

Snell & Wilcox will focus on the practical implementation of new technology in ingest, conversion, restoration, switching, infrastructure, control and management at IBC2003.

Snell & Wilcox Archangel Ph.C provides real-time restoration of a variety of film and video impairments, including providing noise reduction in areas of high movement; uses Ph.C Phase Correlation motion estimation technology.

Key to users will be the company's across-the-board implementation of metadata friendliness. Supporting both AAF and MXF, Snell & Wilcox will show how they and partners are supporting the easy file transfer and metadata generation.

Among the metadata friendly applications to be demonstrated are ingests-for playout and ingest for archiving. In the latter case, Archangel Ph.C provides real-time restoration for the source material before ingest. Both are centered on the Snell & Wilcox mastering and repurposing system.

Other metadata friendly applications will be shown in the presentations for "Ingest Station," Mosalina and RepoDepot.

Snell and Wilcox will exhibit in stand 1.411.
