The Dalet News Suite supplies media asset management and workflow automation built for 24/7 news and sports programs.

Dalet Digital Media Systems' new Dalet Enterprise Edition Version 3.3 is an enterprise media asset management (MAM) solution designed to automate and streamline complex HDTV production. In addition to core MAM functions, the new version includes an embedded NRCS, a new enterprise search engine, unique integration with SeaChange and V4x, adds catch-up TV and interactive mobile capabilities and new automation for 24/7 news production. The product will be on display at IBC2009 in September.

The new architecture provides a platform for both IT and editorial convergence, with highly configurable software and modular tools that simplifiy producing content for different media such as VoD, mobile, Web and podcast.

Dalet WebSpace is a portable Web client built on open technology including Flex, Ajax, H.264 streaming and REST-based API. Dalet WebSpace includes a newsroom client as well as enhanced video and audio production tools and fast navigation. Video content is streamed in H.264 or MPEG-4. WebSpace is ideal for users working with multimedia content, especially those who work remotely such as journalists in the field.

An enhanced enterprise multimedia search engine based on the Apache Software Foundation's open source Lucene/Solr search platform provides a discovery approach to searching, oriented to browsing the bookshelf instead of indexing a card catalog.

Partnerships with SeaChange and V4x provide catch-up TV content creation and distribution as well as interactive content distribution. The new integrations also interface with SeaChange VoD applications. Coupled with V4x technology, these new capabilities let operators add interactivity to multimedia content such as polling, quizzes and automatic graphic repackaging.

Dalet News Suite streamlines studio production, especially for stations offering 24/7 news. Included with the news wheel are: CG production directly in the Dalet Media Cutter timeline; positioning with ins and outs; desktop previews of video and graphics from any workstation; and automated graphics playout as secondary events.
