Dalet rolls out new plug-ins for OpenMedia

Dalet Digital Media Systems featured its new Dalet OpenMedia Plug-in Suite, including Dalet OpenMedia Ingest, Dalet OpenMedia Logger and Dalet OpenMedia OnAir at NAB2006.

The new plug-in suite provides OpenMedia users with ingest and playout capabilities within their OpenMedia system.

The Dalet OpenMedia Ingest plug-in allows for place holder creation and line bookings from OpenMedia into the video server. When source material is recorded using the Dalet OpenMedia Ingest module, a frame accurate, low-resolution copy is automatically created, enabling journalists to retrieve source material quickly over a network. Information about the media stored on the central server, including metadata, is synchronized and sent to Dalet OpenMedia via MOS protocol.

Through Dalet OpenMedia Logger, Open Media users have simultaneous access to the same source materials. The DaletPlus OnAir Plug-in module offers a reliable, open-standard approach for automated and live-assist playout of video, text and captions. Dalet OpenMedia OnAir plugs into to the main OpenMedia system via MOS protocol.
