DekTec to introduce TSoIP-to-digital video converters

DekTec will unveil the DekTec DTE-31xx family of transport stream over IP (TSoIP)-to-digital video converters at NAB2008.

The DekTec DTE-31xx TSoIP-to-digital video converters feature power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, giving new flexibility to expand server I/O. When used with PoE-compatible switches, the TSoIP converters do not require a separate power feed because they can draw power from the network.

The DTE-31xx can interface MPEG-2 transport streams with PC-based applications via the network. They can be used either as compact autonomous gateways or as remote I/O devices for server-based data inserters, stream servers, multiplexers or other digital video applications requiring high-speed I/O. The first two products in the family convert DVB-ASI streams to and from TSoIP on GigE networks.
