Digital Vision to show RED RAW data workflow at NAB

Digital Vision’s Film Master processing manager enables effects and layers built by the colorist to be processed with the company's new Turbine distributed processing engine.
Digital Vision will unveil a new workflow for RED RAW data at NAB. In addition, the company will show file-based workflows for film and broadcast and improved integration with NLE systems.
The company will also show Turbine, an approach to distributed processing that combines the reliability and scalability of a render grid with the performance of a computer cluster. Turbine adds scalable processing power to all Digital Vision software solutions and can improve render times by a factor of 10 or more. Turbine is linked directly to the Film Master processing manager, and as effects and layers are built by the colorist, it kicks in and distributes the work across all available nodes.
Digital Vision has also added a host of new stereo grading features providing easier grading of left eye and right eye and overall look on a shot or scene basis. In addition, the company will be adding monitoring support for the Zalman range of stereo monitors for assist stations to allow reviewing of convergence and editorial decisions outside of the grading theatre.
Also at NAB will be the 2009 (V2) release of the DVO image processing tools for film and video. The DVO New Tracker, for example, allows artists to track people’s faces and objects with a single button press and can deal with all kinds of motion automatically.
