A new software update allows the PT0760M to perform Dolby surround decoding from either embedded HD/SDI streams or separate AES inputs.

DK-Technologies has released a software update for its PT0760M HD/SD multichannel video waveform monitor. The software update includes a simpler menu structure for easier navigation of the PT0760M’s video and audio features. The unit also now has plug-and-play capability and incorporates Dolby Digital and Dolby E decoding, either from embedded audio within the HD/SD video or through separate AES inputs via a Dolby decoder module.

The PT0760M can also provide analog or AES audio outputs with integral level control, making it an integrated solution for managing and monitoring Dolby Digital 5.1-coded audio signals. Its feature set includes four separate auto-sensing HD/SD inputs that allow for the simultaneous display of four individual waveform monitors, plus a vectorscope. The PT0760M has a DVI output that enables the user to view multiple screens on a single external display. The images can comprise all four waveform monitors and the selected audio metering.

Launched at NAB2008, the PT0760M is effectively four HD/SD waveform monitors in one box, making it useful for OB vehicles, production studios, master control rooms and CCUs. It incorporates DK-Technologies’ MSD range of audio software, which feature the company’s JellyFish and StarFish displays for stereo and surround-sound monitoring. The new software will be installed in all future units, while existing PT0760M customers can download it for free without the need to return their units to the company.
