Ensemble has introduced new modules for the Avenue modular product range.

Ensemble Designs will introduce 28 products at NAB2009 (Booth N4023), including the 4500 MPEG Transport Stream Processor for translating DVB-ASI to SMPTE 310M in broadcast and satellite applications.

Ensemble’s new LevelTrack Audio AGC corrects mismatched audio levels between different program sources or segments within a program. Based on the history in each channel, gradual changes are applied to prevent the audio level from dropping below or exceeding user-programmable thresholds. By adjusting the overall level of the signal, LevelTrack will not upset the internal dynamics of the program material.

Transmission facilities often have both 310M and ASI signals and need a way to convert and monitor those streams. The new 4500 MPEG Transport Stream Processor translates DVB-ASI and SMPTE 310M or 310M to ASI. It verifies signal health by evaluating signal presence, program packets, PMT, PAT and PIDs.

Other products on display will include the Avenue 7160 HD Bypass Protection Switch. This smart switch checks for closed-captioning data, TRS, audio and black and frozen video.
