Entertainment Studios has chosen electronic media services provider Crawford Communications for transmission of six HD TV networks initially launching on Verizon’s FiOS TV.

The six Entertainment Studios HD networks are: CARS.TV, PETS.TV, COMEDY.TV, MYDESTINATION.TV, ES.TV and RECIPE.TV. The networks are global in scope and will provide multiplatform content, giving viewers the ability to watch the content on television, online and mobile phones.

Entertainment Studios sends HD content from its Los Angeles headquarters to Crawford’s hub in Atlanta for turnkey HD origination services. From ingest and content management to playout and quality control, Crawford monitors these networks 24/7 for seamless broadcasts. Crawford uplinks the signals to SES AMERICOM’s AMC-18 satellite via an MPEG-4 HD MCPC mux for U.S. distribution.
