The new Gefen 1:5 Splitter for HDMI over Cat 5 lets users connect five displays locally using standard HDMI cables or extend one, two, three or four displays as needed.
Gefen has introduced the rack-mountable Gefen 1:5 Splitter for HDMI over Cat 5, which allows any HDMI source signal to be split and delivered to five displays at the same time.
The unit also extends four displays up to 150ft over Cat 5 cable. At this distance, 1080p HD is delivered instantly using the standard cabling; resolutions up to 1080i can be extended even to 300ft. Users can also connect five displays locally using standard HDMI cables or extend one, two, three or four displays as needed. Both video and audio are transmitted over the same two Cat 5 cables, allowing for simple extension.
