Gemalto security advance gives a leg up to mobile TV take-off

Digital security firm Gemalto's UpTeq mobile TV SIM card received Smartcard Profile security certification, meeting the OMA BCAST SCP SIMalliance Security Guidelines for mobile TV. The certification assures the content security that mobile operators need for wide mobile TV deployment.

OMA BROADCAST's SCP is the industry standard for SIM-based conditional access systems. The SIMalliance evaluates solutions based on security analysis, common security methodology and third-party laboratory evaluation. The LETI security center in Grenoble, France, evaluated Gemalto's UpTeq SIM card.
