For GlobeCast’s Sydney international teleport, TANDBERG Television E5782 MPEG-2 encoders and multiformat RX1290 MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AVC decoders provide high-quality 4:2:2 profile HD video images. The company’s SM6620 modulators, which support the DVB-S2 standard, are also being used. For DSNG applications, GlobeCast Australia is using the E5740 Voyager MPEG-2 SD and E5788 Voyager MPEG-2 4:2:2 HD encoders.
GlobeCast Australia is also deploying TANDBERG’s TT1222 integrated receiver/decoders as part of its recently introduced GlobeCam service. GlobeCam uses miniature cameras to broadcast live, onboard action from sporting events such as motor racing, cycling, aerobatics and skydiving.
