GoVision installs video wall above center court at Lucas Oil Stadium

For the second consecutive year, the NCAA Men’s Final Four featured an octagonal LED video wall suspended above the court. Fans that attended the 2010 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Championships had an HD view of all the action, regardless of where they were seated in Lucas Oil Stadium.

Texas-based GoVision, a supplier of turnkey mobile LED units and customized modular LED walls, provided the video wall by Daktronics and related production elements for the men’s Final Four.

In partnership with the NCAA, GoVision configured eight 15ft by 28ft Daktronics PST-12HD modular LED screens to create an HD octagonal video wall. The eight-screen unit was suspended from the ceiling 60ft above the basketball court and weighed 36,680lbs.

The screens that formed the video wall were pulled from the outside plazas at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX, as part of GoVision’s partnership with the Dallas Cowboys, announced last September.

This year, a 50ft courtside ribbon board displayed sponsor logos, stats and other HD graphics. The 30in screen was comprised of Daktronics high-resolution modular PST-6i-b panels and was similar to the configuration GoVision debuted during February’s NBA All Star Game in Dallas.
