Greek broadcaster selects OmniBus Colossus

Athens-based commercial broadcaster Star Channel has gone to air with Greece's first fully automated, end-to-end transmission environment, based on OmniBus Systems' Colossus playout solution.

Star Channel plays long-form material out on tape and commercials from a server. It sought a robust and reliable system that could one day be expanded to play out all of its content from server technology.

The Greek broadcaster chose Colossus, a multichannel, multi-delivery automation and control system to provide a more cost-effective transmission operation with built-in scalability for future expansion and high levels of integration.

Colossus integrates with the Provys business management system to let operators make changes directly in the traffic system that it can detect and automatically merges into the live schedule.
