Harmonic unveils release 3.0 of its NMX digital service manager

Harmonic's NMX Digital Service Manager

At IBC2004, Harmonic unveiled its release of the NMX Digital Service Manager.

The company says NMX 3.0 improves the reliability and availability of digital pay-TV services and gives operators greater flexibility and control while simplifying the process of provisioning broadcast and on-demand digital video services.

In this new version of NMX, Harmonic enables support for IP-based TV (IPTV) services to bring the full complement of category-defining capabilities and benefits to this emerging market.

A timeline-based user interface for the scheduling system makes it possible to dynamically schedule services (add, delete and modify) according to the time of day and the day of the week. The scheduler also makes it possible to schedule conditional-access (CAS)-related changes seamlessly in conjunction with other line-up changes.
