Ikegami to introduce Editcam HD, production switcher at NAB2005

The HSS-3000 full-size HD/SD production switcher can input HD, SD or SDI signals.

Ikegami Electronics will show several new products, including those for HDTV, tapeless digital acquisition for news, and a full-size HD/SD production switcher at NAB2005.

The new Editcam HD camcorder employs a recording section using the Avid DNxHD high-quality mastering codec to deliver HD resolution full-raster (1920x1080) images that can be edited on laptop and desktop systems in real time.

The Editcam HD currently has a data rate of 140Mb/s to provide 1080/60i, 1080/24p and 720/60p recording and playback using FieldPak2 recording media. The company plans to introduce a new 120GB FieldPak2 that provides more than one hour of HD recording time.

Additionally, Ikegami will unveil the HSS-3000 full-size HD/SD production switcher. The HSS-3000 can input HD, SD or SDI signals. It offers 96 inputs and 64 outputs. All output signals are fully assignable. It has four M/Es, with either HD or SD signals assignable to each. A two-channel DVE is built into each M/E. A smaller HSS-300 version is available with one or two M/Es.
