IP multiviewer debuts at IBC2007

At IBC2007, e-mediavision.com introduced the X-View DPX-IP, a broadcast IP multiviewer that decodes and displays multiple video channels directly from an encoded IP stream.

The company showed the DPX-IP multiviewer decoding 24 channels of H.264/AVC-10 encoded video in real time for viewing on two HD display monitors at 1920 x 1080 resolution. The dual-screen output allows a mosaic display on one screen and a full-screen display on the other, or a split configuration where both monitors can show a combination of mosaic outputs.

The X-View DPX-IP provides all of the normal functions associated with traditional multiviewers, such as in-picture audio monitoring, tally and UMD, as well as real-time resize, position and zooming functions.

By decoding directly via IP stream, the DPX-IP multiviewer lowers the cost of implementation within a broadcast facility.
