JDSU has introduced the SmartClass E1/Datacom, a handheld tester for the installation and commissioning of E1 and Datacom circuits and network elements used extensively worldwide for information and data transfer from one location to another.
The SmartClass E1/Datacom features a large, easy-to-read color screen and auto configuration feature, making it especially suitable for Tier 1 field technicians supporting large-scale deployments.
Key features include interoperability with PC software so that results can be downloaded for report preparation and a user interface that is available in multiple languages. Included with each SmartClass E1/Datacom are dual E1 ports for bi-directional monitoring and troubleshooting of E1 links and a Datacom port. The new tester is lightweight, rugged and uses off-the-shelf AA batteries.
