UK-based content archive and storage management software vendor Software Generation (SGL) has announced that Estonia-based playout provider Levira has installed its FlashNet to migrate to an automated digital workflow. The project, designed and managed by Finnish reseller and systems integrator MediaTrade, also provides increased channel capacity.
Integrating with an IBIS MAM (Media Asset Management) and Oasys playout automation system, SGL’s FlashNet content storage management technology provides Levira with greater flexibility to store material for its clients with less human intervention. Ingested files are registered in the MAM system, and the material is then divided per customer and stored on the NAS (Network Attached Storage) archive. FlashNet then archives the content to two tapes, the first held in a tape robot and used for restoring data, and the second kept as a back-up.
Being able to simplify and automate processes was a major part of Levira’s expansion plan and was a key factor when selecting SGL FlashNet.
