MEDIORNET to highlight new X-Switch optical networking system

MEDIORNET will introduce X-Switch, a versatile optical networking system that enables broadcast systems integrators to achieve savings in planning and installation costs.

X-Switch unifies the previously separated infrastructures required for audio, HD and SD video, lighting, control, telecommunications and data. Designed to handle synchronous, uncompressed signals, it is equally suitable for use in asynchronous compressed post-production.

The system is fail-safe and fully scalable. It can be used to for point-to-point links of up to 62 miles or as the foundation for enterprise-size worldwide networks. Existing networks, such as SDH/SONET and ATM, can be easily integrated.

X-Switch transports all data streams, uncompressed, within a single infrastructure. Integral sync distribution is provided, with user-adjustable or automatic delay compensation.
