Mojave Audio announces new large-diaphragm condenser model

Mojave Audio has introduced a new cardioid condenser microphone, the MA-201fet. Evolving from founder David Royer’s many years as a custom mic designer, the MA-201fet is designed for everything from vocals and voice-overs to acoustic music instruments such as guitar, piano and wind instruments. The MA-201fet boasts impressive performance specifications with a tailored, full-range frequency response, a sensitivity rating of -39 dB, and distortion of less than 1 percent at 120dB SPL. The microphone operates on standard 48V phantom power.

The new MA-201fet provides warm, full-bodied reproduction without the shrillness and high-frequency artifacts often encountered with modern condenser mics. The microphone’s warm FET circuitry and Jensen transformer combine to deliver low noise and high-quality performance. The mic employs a solid-state, large-diaphragm, 3-micron thick, 1in (diameter) gold sputtered capsule.

The Mojave Audio MA-201fet is scheduled to ship in early September.
