NBC News has opened a full-time news bureau in New Orleans to cover the Katrina aftermath and recovery effort along the Gulf Coast.
The bureau is operating in conjunction with the NBC affiliate WDSU-TV, said acting NBC News President Steve Capus.
Frieda Morris, NBC News' southeast bureau chief is serving as the New Orleans bureau chief. Joining Morris is a team of NBC News correspondents, producers and crews.
