New VECTORBOX playout system features HD, SD simulcasting

Vector 3 will be showing its VECTORBOX 8000HD playout system at this year’s IBC with new features designed for channels that need to mix file formats and SD/HD video in their playout environment.

The new 8000HD video server features include support for all video, compression and metadata file formats for easy integration into any file-based workflow. Automatic upscaling and downscaling allows the user to play out a channel in either HD-SDI or SDI from a mixed HD/SD schedule and also simulcast one channel of each using the same playlist, replacing the need for two separate video servers.

Other VECTORBOX 8000HD features include an integral CG for branding the channel with bugs, animations and real-time tickers linked to RSS feeds and other remote databases.
