Mediatec Broadcast, part of the Mediatec Group and one of Europe’s producers of live events, is using a full complement of instant tapeless technology from EVS to produce and broadcast the Viasat Sport channel in Norway and the new Viasat Football channel.

EVS has provided a series of HD/SD XT[2] production and playout servers that handle all ingest and playout requirements for both the Viasat Sport and Viasat Football channels. The ingest control, metadata management and production content management is executed with EVS IPDirector software and Snell’s Morpheus automation system. Fast-turnaround productions that include live analysis and highlights packages are produced with EVS’ MulticamLSM application.

The EVS servers are interconnected to a hybrid network, EVS XNet[2], for live and instant sharing across the entire production platform and a GigE network for bidirectional file transfers to and from a 20TB Apple Xsan system with a Final Cut Server. The 24/7 rundown of both channels is managed with the Morpheus automation controlling the XT[2] ports.
