Panasonic unveils AG-HPX300 HD camcorder

Panasonic has released the AG-HPX300, a 10-bit, 4:2:2 professional HD camcorder that records to P2 solid-state media and features individual-frame AVC-Intra recording and variable frame rates.

The low-profile, shoulder-mounted camcorder relies on three 1/3in, 2.2-megapixel MOS image sensors, comes with a 17x HD Fujinon lens and supports interchangeable lenses.

With a redesigned optical block and precise prism bonding technology, the three MOS imagers produce high-quality images while minimizing flare and chromatic aberration. A new 20-bit digital signal processor also enhances the HPX300’s image performance.

Delivering support for AVC-Intra 100 and AVC-Intra 50, the HPX300 also records individual frame images in 100Mb/s DVCPRO HD and in SD in DVCPRO50, DVCPRO and DV.
