Panasonic unveils enhanced AV-HS400 switcher at IBC

Panasonic PBITS Professional & Broadcast Systems introduced the AV-HS400A compact multiformat live switcher at IBC2008.

The AV-HS400A includes new functions and enhancements, when compared to its predecessor HS-400, that are designed to extend its abilities in live broadcast and OB applications. For example, an evolutionary key function offers 3-D effects, and a flying key function enables easy key positioning, size adjustment and omnidirectional edge specification.

Panasonic also has enhanced the AV-HS400’s multiview display option to provide a more ergonomic user environment with features including green tally display of the input selected by the preset bus. The AV-HS400A allows switchable display and editing of input material names and has five-level brightness controls on frames and background labels.
The AV-HS400A also offers direct control for an attached AW-HE100 HD integrated camera or Panasonic’s pan/tilt camera head. The switcher is due to ship this month.
