At NAB200, Quantel introduced Joe and Ed — two new broadcast editors for its Enterprise sQ and Newsbox HD integrated production systems — as part of its Quattro software release.
The new editors provide a replacement for the company’s previous range of six editors. Joe and Ed cover most editing needs, providing the right tools and interface for various tasks and skill levels. Based on Quantel’s user interface, Joe and Ed bring fully transparent, SD and HD production capabilities to every user.
Joe is the journalist’s editor. It is fully configurable for individual requirements, whether for viewing, shot selection, rough-cutting or complete desktop packaging. Joe is adapted to work inside newsroom computer systems and delivers editing, scripting and control from a single interface.
Ed is a craft editor with a multilayer timeline and complete Quantel production toolset. It can run on a PC or Quantel hardware for extra performance.
