Rohde & Schwarz to highlight efficiency boosts, handheld TV analyzer
Jul 17, 2008 10:22 AM
Rohde & Schwarz will unveil the R&S ETH, a portable instrument offering TV and spectrum analysis for mobile applications as well as developments that enhance the energy efficiency of its transmitters, at IBC2008 Sept. 12-16 in Amsterdam.
New transmitter developments produce energy efficiency increases as large as 20 percent and reduced operating costs. The company already has implemented this new approach in its R&S NX8600 and R&S NX8300 high-power and medium-power transmitters. For DAB and T-DMB applications, the company will feature the R&S NA8200 family of high-power transmitters with energy-efficient system design and the new R&S SX801 DAB exciter.
The new R&S ETH handheld TV analyzer for DVB-T/H is a portable solution for indoor coverage measurements as well as for the installation and maintenance of low-power transmitters. It is well suited for TV network operators broadcasting DVB-T and for providers that operate a mobile TV network using DVB-H. The handheld analyzer has a high-contrast color display and 4.5-hour battery life.
